Parent Education & Community PlaygroupThis program is a collaboration between the Women's Resource Center and the Library. It is held every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library. It is available for children from birth to five years old. Activities, games story time and projects are offered for children. Call the library for details. Story Time This program is held every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the library community room. It is available for children from birth to four year olds. Each themed story time includes literacy skills, finger plays and music. Call the library for details. Teen After School ProgramAn after school program is held Monday through Thursday 3-5 p.m. in the library's community room from September to June of each year. It is available for teens from 6th - 12th grade. Teen monthly calendar activities are on homepage under the link teen links which also contains a photo gallery as well as videos produced by the teens. Homework center is available with homework help daily. Teen Program Director is Danielle Baier with Teen Art Director Loren Gillespie III and Teen Facilitator Camille Yarbrough. Homework Center A daily homework tutoring center enhances the teen after school program. Students in 6 to 12 grade will receive help with their homework by their own peers. National Honor Society students will be available for teens needing help with homework Monday through Thursday 3 to 5 p.m. Partitions are used to block out visual distractions. Graphing calculators are available for in library use while doing homework. Eight laptops with wireless access and a printer are available for the teens to use. Bestseller ClubJoin this club and you will automatically be placed on the hold list for your favorite authors. National Library Week In April, special programs are planned around National Library Week. Adopt a magazine Local businesses, community groups and individuals have adopted magazines in the library to promote their business or organization. The name of who adopted the magazine appears on the front cover of the current issue. A list of titles with prices are available at the circulation desk.
